Learn more about your eligibility for Medicaid.

You may qualify for a state or federal subsidy.

You may qualify for a $0 individual or family plan.

Here are the additional benefits you may qualify for:
SNAP (Food Stamps)

SNAP (Food Stamps/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) offers cash benefits that you can use at grocery stores to buy food.

WIC

WIC (Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) provides cash grants (national average is $57 per month) for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant/breastfeeding/non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk.

TANF

TANF (Welfare/Public/Cash Assistance) gives cash assistance to families in need. If you are eligible for TANF and you receive child support, your monthly child support amount may be reduced by the state. The grant amount we estimate includes state TANF programs and child support "pass through" policies.

Head Start

Head Start provides early childhood education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families,  up to age 4. All Head Start programs are allowed to let ten percent of families with income higher than the poverty level (so always reach out to your local head start if you need help caring for a child under 4).

HEAP

The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) helps low-income homeowners and renters pay bills for heating fuel, equipment, and repairs if utilities are in their name.

Lifeline

Lifeline offers a reduced rate by $9.25 per month on the basic monthly charge for telephone service.

School Meals

School meals are free (less than 133% poverty level or receiving any other benefit like SNAP) or reduced (130-185%) depending on income for healthy meals through your local school system.  If you receive school meals, the cost cannot go above 40 cents a day

EITC

EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit/EIC), is a tax credit for individuals/families with employment income. Even if you do not owe any tax or are not required to file, the EITC reduces the amount of tax you owe and often gives you a refund. EITC can be claimed up to 3 years later if you haven't filed your taxes lately, and is America's biggest cash transfer anti-poverty program.

CTC

CTC (Child Tax Credit) is a partially refundable tax credit with a value of up to $2,000 per qualifying child.  First the CTC reduces your federal taxes and a portion of the rest is given to you as a tax credit when you file.

Not-Eligible

You are not eligible for any programs at this time.

Subsidized Child Care

Subsidized Child Care, provides free or low-cost child care (we show you your anticipated co-pay here but many states are waiving co-pays during Covid).  Priority is given first to families receiving or eligible for TANF/Cash Assitance, then people transitioning off of TANF, and then income eligible families, so many cities/states have waiting lists. Families will either receive child care through a voucher system, through a child care provider contracted by the state, or through Head Start.
